Before I tell you the exciting details about this must-have workshop for anyone who wants to train for an obstacle event from home, let's talk about who it's really for.
This workshop is perfect for you if...
You'll walk away from this workshop with...
✔ A detailed guide for exactly how to combine runs with home workouts to get ready for your event
✔ Important information about how to choose the right obstacle event for you and your abilities and style
✔ Complete confidence that you'll show up to your event totally prepared (without ever stepping foot in a gym)
✔ The 'insider secrets' about obstacle events that will give you a leg up (and the ability to relax and have more fun) at your event
You might have already noticed...
but without this workshop you can expect to spend a LOT of time looking for answers about how to train for your event at home.
It’s not your fault. The obstacle event space is a billion dollar industry that's still relatively new. The training plans that are on the market are mostly created for the 'pro' obstacle racers rather than people like you and me.
But don't worry.
With the information I share with you in this workshop you'll complete your event just like the pros. (But have way more fun.)
In this workshop
How to Choose an Event
Have you been eyeing a particular obstacle event for years and wondering if it's a good fit for you? I'll walk you through the important details you need to consider while researching your event. And how to decide which one is the right one for you.
How to Train for Your Obstacle Event from Home
Since you're here chances are you've been wondering if you can train for this thing from home. And if yes, then how? In the second part of my workshop I'll show you exactly how I've trained for 4 different obstacle events from home. I'll guide you through my training plan so you can create one for yourself.
The Do's and Dont's for the 'Day Of' your event
In the last part of the workshop I'll share all the 'insider's secrets' of particpating in an obstacle event. There are SO MANY things I've learned along the way that I wish I knew at my first event! Here's where I spill the beans on exactly how to choose your race day outfit, what to expect during the event and what you'll need after you cross the finish line so that your event day runs as smooth as you will.
I’ll spend some time answering your most burning questions about participating in an obstacle event like:
Will I lose weight while I'm training for my event? (like...is this a perk I can expect?)
I workout all the time already. Do I really need to train that much more for one of these events?
Who should I invite to do the event with me? Or can I do it by myself?
I'm a regular exerciser but I'm not skinny or super strong. Can I do this thing?
I wonder if you noticed...
that this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity. There are a lot of resources on the market that you can piece together to figure (most of) this stuff out but no where else where you can get all of the information to help you prepare for your obstacle event from start to finish (from home) all in one place.
A note from Mickie...
Over the last 20 years of exercising at home I've slowly cracked the code on how to hit every fitness goal I've ever set for myself (without stepping foot in a gym).
I signed up for my first Tough Mudder in 2015--13 miles and 25+ obstacles in the Kentucky heat. I created a detailed 12-week training plan that combined a running schedule with a home workout routine using Beachbody and Cathe Friedrich programs. I've never been more proud of myself than when I crossed that finish line.
I went on to sign up for another Tough Mudder, a shorter obstacle event in Nashville (with a LOT of hills!) and a Spartan Sprint. And in Feb. 2022, I'll be running in my 3rd Tough Mudder (although I've opted for the shorter 6 mile distance this time).
Over the years, I've tweaked and polished my training plan into something that's simple and works. And I'm honored to share it with you!
The truth is, showing up for an event like this UNprepared could set you back as much as blazing across the finish line (because you were fully prepared) will enhance it.
I'm excited to be a part of your journey! I'll see you in the workshop!Sign me up!
